Green Schwinn are a 2-piece acoustic band
based in the Buffalo, NY area. We play
music for anybody who needs it even though
they don't know it. We perform an eclectic
blend of unusual old-time classics, upbeat
fun songs, originals and plenty of cover songs.
We are an attention-getting group that is
unlike anything else you have ever heard
before. If you are looking for something
unique and different, we are the band for you.
This band delivers a high-octane entertainment
knockout punch that is more likely delivered
by larger bands of 4 or more people.
Band members John Blake (vocals) and Andy Othman (guitar, ukulele) list their most important musical influence as Tiny Tim, who dominated
the late 60's with his unique high falsetto voice and love of tulips. Another big influence on the band was Robert Crumb. He is a musician
and comic book artist and old-time music aficianado. His band is called The Cheap Suit Serenaders. Green Schwinn derives their unique comic insight
from past old 1930's animated cartoon icons such as Betty Boop, Popeye and Daffy Duck.
